SEARCHING IN ABSENCE

Over the course of this initial week, I have sourced information from these two videos down bellow; $0 by Cameron Winter, and Sophie Calle: Conversation with the Nameless Man.

Currently, I have been enamoured by the concept of absence, and what we find in absence. You can only search for something when it is lost. You can only recognise yourself once you have forgotten. People find new life in grief, and the world can only start to be rebuilt once it has completely broken to the ground. Everything you have left when the dust clears is golden.

$0 - Cameron Winter

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETZKZzz7MWo&list=RDETZKZzz7MWo&start_radio=1

Cameron Winter sings on love, betrayal, dissociation - being beaten down by the world, and refusing to associate with the current climate of political and environmental chaos, and fully immersing himself in his love. In a world he recognises as hopeless, he finds his faith in God.

Sophie Calle: Conversation with the Nameless Man

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYpeTrSFsvI

Sophie Calle, an artist who has made a name for herself by constructing and fronting as a false identity, has a conversation with a man who has chosen to identify as nameless. They speak on death, identity, vulnerability and intimacy.

Both videos carry a weight of humanity that caught my attention, I hope you may find it there too.
