Learning the machine to overthrow it
I spent a couple days in between working on my essay on expanded cinema as a site of philosophical enquiry toying with some of the concepts brought up in my last post. How do I challenge AI ? How to I undercut it? Take the dignities it’s taken from artists? Mockery. Why not learn how to fight it by mocking its shortcomings. It’s development phases. It wasn’t long ago AI tried to emulate will smith eating spaghetti and looking miserable in its attempt. Now it’s a threat. So mockery and mimicry it is. I’ve played with a few methods of human controlled digital generation by manipulating image. Here are a couple of the results. This will be my potential method for the AI prompt. My human prompt video will remain true to my typical practice.
