@Lara: Cake & other thoughts



real or cake - I'm sure you've seen way too many of these videos before, but there's something so strange in the thrill people find with the potential of something being fake, inauthentic to the eye, and of all things, its cake. Many of these objects are quite obviously cake, but there is still that slight chance your eyes are deceiving you, especially with how many objects appear in the video the repetitive video style & audio, 

The happy birthday song...blowing candles...both traditions we blindly follow as we are taught this is normal at a very young age. It could be interesting to explore the origins & associations of these traditions.

I was also thinking about how nowadays it is popular to make social media accounts solely for photos taken with disposable cameras, and how it's almost a separate endeavour from the main depiction of someone's life online. Is there a reason for this? When developing a roll of film, is it purely a functional/organizational choice? If revisited and seen in the future, how will this separation impact how we view our history based on digital archives?
