VIDEO ART RESIDENCY OPEN CALL 2025
VVV Residency is a space of critical reflection on video libraries and a production time for videoart. The residency focuses on the video-trouvé as a tool to look at one's own research through the eyes of others: a topic to face nowadays where human interaction and perception of reality is continuously glitching within screen interfaces.
The artist in residency is digital and IRL space for conversation and production. Over a period of 6 weeks artists engage with different digital tools: a blog, webinar platform, digital and physical archives, a streaming platform. The process ends with a 4 days stay in Naples and live event.
Art Residency
The residency evolves online for six week with the goal of producing a videoart work for each
artist and ends with a IRL presentation event in Naples.
Webinar collective meetings engage the artists into a conversational process. Those
conversations introduce the artists to the international videoart landscape and guide the group
into moments of idividual and collective research sharing. Part of the work is run exploring and
analyzing free video libraries and the potential of merging the personal research with a pre-
existing collective imaginary.
Private meetings with the two tutors, Alessandra Arnò and Simona Da Pozzo, support the work in progress of each artist. A specially dedicated online blog (https://vvvres.blogspot.com/ ) is the space on which artists share the work in progress with two other artists, the tutors and the public of the project. The blog works as a kind of shared diary of images enlightening the visual link between the researches.
Event and exhibit
The works realized during the residency are shown in an exhibition running in streaming on
VisualcontainerTv for one month giving great international visibility to the artworks.
The exhibition opening will be a live (IRL) event in Naples in dialogue with artists based in
Naples. The exhibition will be the final moment of 4 days stay in the incredible city of Naples,
getting at the heart of art scene panorama of the city.
