r/cablegore
While researching, I came across r/cablegore, a slightly niche subreddit where people post photos of poor cable management. When we think of server rooms and Big Tech we tend to imagine clean, clinical spaces. These images feel incongruent, out of place, and dystopian.
The main horror comes from the fire risk of a lot of these images, but I'm also drawn to the visceral imagery of the cables like veins/sinews/nerves. We often perceive a binary between natural/artificial, but I'm interested in imagery that overlaps the two.
What would the effect of removing that binary be?
