Daisy//Inspiration & Initial Research
Inspiration
I am interested in looking into the reclamation of spaces by
the natural world with plant growing over worn-down human spaces that have been
forgotten. Looking at the intertwined relationships that appear in these new
ecosystems. With this I am interested in distancing the human by exploring how
other animals see the world, looking at footage through their eyes. Also, the
science fiction outlook of how animals may evolve within the human rubble
altering their physicality, working with found footage I want to explore this
idea playing with eyesight.
Found footage on pixabay - using footage that gives the
feeling on being at the same level of the animal, so for small animals low down
or for birds an aerial shot.

Sehen Sie sich, wie ein Tier Sie sieht! (See yourself
through the eyes of an animal!) - Klara Hobza’s Animaloculomat
Eduardo Williams video work that I put a screenshot of bellow is of a tiny pill camera that he swallowed, and it filmed the journey through
his system. I’m interested in the way e shows this different view within the
circular crop which fits with the tube-like channel that is went through and is
also connected to these circular long shots of landscapes. This connection
between the body and its surroundings
Idea
This image is just a test playing around with this image of
a fox using the fisheye lens sort of distortion to try and give this feeling of
being inside the eye of an animal. I want to try and play around with the idea
of using found footage that moves around and have this centre circle that’s in
proportion and focus move with the movement of the film to represent the eye.
Like how when we look in another direction, we move our eyes ever so slightly
before we move our physical head.
